Something magical has been happening at Kids for a Better Future!
KBF was founded nine years ago by a group of 3rd graders in Brooklyn. All the original members of KBF are now in their senior year and will soon be off to college. But they wanted KBF to continue, and so they decided to bequeath their organization to current 3rd graders (and a few 4th and 5th graders) including KBF founder Akash Mehta's younger brother Satya. Original KBF members Akash and Natassia Walley have been mentoring the younger KBF members all year. Here are photos of their many activities this year: KBF meetings with guest speakers, participation in the Girls Read for Girls Readathon, a screening of Girl Rising (with popcorn of course!), and more. Please support KBF by making a donation. This year, 100% of your donation will go to The Malala Fund, working to ensure that every child on earth can go to school.
The 9th Annual Walkathon will be on Saturday, May 21st, at 12:30pm! All funds raised will support girls' education through the lifechanging work of The Malala Fund. Last year's Walkathon raised $25,000 - this year, we'd like to beat that sum!
This Walkathon will be the last, for the original members of KBF - let's make it count!
Please let us know that you'll be coming and getting sponsored! See our flyer for more information, and print out a sponsorship form here. And click here to sponsor a walker!
